Hull has left Irons feeling nervous about relegation

The game against Hull at the start of the month was more important than I thought it would be. We went up there needing three points to put any relegation worries to bed – I never thought at the start of March that we would be in that position.

We had a good patch where we were grinding out results and looking up the table, and then we went three games without a win and started to look back over our shoulder again. I think we will be OK. I don’t think we will need to get 40 points to stay up but I hope we get there sooner rather than later.

We’re getting to the stage of the season where one or two teams near the bottom will start playing like they are pushing for Europe, but hopefully we can keep clear throughout the month. We can’t get to the stage where we are having to look at the fixtures to see where we think we can get points from.

We’ve got Spurs and Liverpool in May and I really hope we can just enjoy these last two homes games of the season and not need to worry about picking up any points. I want us to really take the game to them and give the fans two great memories from this season at our new home in Stratford.
