A season of few highlights

I think if someone had offered us 11th at the start of the season, we’d have taken it but it really was a topsy turvy year.

Yes, we ended up mid table but we could have finished higher – a lot higher – if we’d have converted some of the winning positions we found ourselves in. Th ere were definitely periods of us playing good football and accumulating lots of points and then some periods where we went without points and, well, you all saw what the football was like!

At the end of our final season at the Boleyn, there were so many highlights to reflect upon but at the end of this campaign, the Spurs game, for me, is the only league game that stood out as a genuine highlight.

The away win at Burnley was up there as there weren’t many teams to have come away from Turf Moor with all three points. But wedged in-between these games was us being smashed by Liverpool and the month of May really summed up our season.

We are in need of adding more personnel to the squad. At times last season it was threadbare on the ground.

Pablo Zabaleta looks like a good signing. He brings a lot of experience – massive experience – of playing at the highest level for such a long time.
