The best West Ham experience I have ever had was being a team mascot for our match against Brighton and Hove Albion – even though we lost!
We arrived on the day at 5.30pm and were met by Gary who gave us a West Ham goodie bag containing a programme and a special mascot trophy. At 5.45pm, the mascots were collected and taken pitchside for a photograph. We were then taken to the home dressing room and were able to meet the players.
I got loads of stuff signed and was lucky enough to meet my favourite player, Adrian, who signed a photograph just for me. He was so nice.
We returned to the pitch for some football training until the big moment arrived. We all lined up in the tunnel, and I held Kouyate’s hand.
walked out! I shook hands with the referee, his assistants and the Brighton players. We then got our photographs taken with the teams.
We had to run as fast as we could back into the tunnel. Hammerhead followed and gave us all a fist pump before we took our seats. I had the best time!
