It’s good to see that in this modern age of football that players do still hold others to account in the dressing room after a game — just like we used to in my day. Following the Wolves game, Mark Noble says he and Marko Arnautovic were in the thick of an open chat where some home truths were said and clearly this had an impact if September’s good results and performances were anything to go by.
While we might not ever know what was said and who perhaps got the lion’s share of the blame – it’s worked a treat. Sometimes that’s what you need and the table certainly looked a lot better after those few results, which will have given the players a lot of belief heading into October.
The Everton game last month gave us all a huge boost because it’s not been one of our happiest hunting grounds historically but we went there and fully deserved the win. I think when fixtures came out, even the most die hard of fans would have taken a point from Everton away and we certainly wouldn’t have been expecting much from Chelsea or Man United.
I am looking forward to our game against Spurs and I think it might come at a good time for us.
