Marko Arnautovic has completed his transfer from West Ham to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG in a £22.4m deal.
The 30-year-old told the Hammers he wanted to quit London Stadium last week after Shanghai came back in for him after his move fell through in January.
The Austria international had signed a contract extension in January following the move’s collapse but West Ham have decided to cut their losses.
It is understood Manuel Pellegrini did not want the player to stay and disrupt the squad in pre-season.
The deal leaves the Irons in desperate need of offensive reinforcements following the previous departures of Andy Carroll and Lukas Perez.
