Opposition View: Wolves hoping to bounce back after a tough run of fixtures

'Mid table for Wolves this season after two brilliant seasons'

While the Hammers continue to battle for a place in the Top 5, Wolves are happily sitting in mid-table. Wolves fan Stephen Venables had a chat to Olivia Elliott to give his views on their season.

Who would you consider the best player is for West Ham?

Declan Rice is a great player. He is great winning the ball back to push forwards towards the goal. Not to mention Soucek as well!

What do you think West Hams strengths and weaknesses are?

There is a togetherness about the happy hammers this season which is definitely a strength. I do believe that without the negativity of the fans in the stadium due to the owners its helped you a lot this season.

How do you think Wolves will get on for the rest of this season?

Mid table for Wolves this season after two brilliant seasons hopefully next season will be better.

What player for Wolves has surprised you most this season?

Fabio Silva is going to be a terrific striker even though he’s only 18.

What has been Wolves biggest struggle this season?

Our biggest struggle has been having so many injuries to key players. Raul, Boly, Johnny Otto, Podence etc and with having a small squad we haven’t been able to function properly and to keep the core team together. Another reason is the fans not attending. Molineux is amazing, when it’s full its rocking- it drives the players on!

Who would be your ideal signing for next season?

Two new centre backs with pace, a tough mobile midfielder who can drive forward. That would transform this team.

How big of a miss has Raúl Jiménez been- is there any updates?

Raul’s loss has been massive. He is a magnificent player for us, close to world class, can do everything. He’s our talisman. He’s been training for about three months and is close to a return. Nuno has said we are just awaiting medical clearance.

Are you pleased WBA are going down or would you rather play them every year?

I don’t hate the baggies I never really have done. They are just a nothing club. Hate the Villa more and of course Man Utd.
