Opposition View: I think Palace will do well this season with Vieira as our new boss

'As a mid-table team, I think we will finish in 8th place'

Crystal Palace v West Ham, Barclays Premier League, 03 December 2013

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace, we catch up with Palace fan Hayden Sharp on the potential for finishing in the top half of the table this campaign.

How do you think your team will get on this season?

I think Palace will do well this season with Patrick Vieira as our new boss who I believe has a lot of potential. If he brings us in a couple of new players, I think we will do well this season.

What are your predictions as to where you will finish in the table this year?

As a mid-table team, I think we will finish in 8th place. But it is the Premier League, you can never predict it!

Is there a new signing that opposing teams should watch out for?

We have only made two new signings so far. Michael Olise, who we signed from Reading, had an incredible season there. Hopefully, he can carry on what he did last season here at Palace.

Are you pleased with your transfer window so far?

I am happy but I think we need to make a couple more signings just to help with the squad depth. I think it will be tricky for us this season if we don’t sign anyone else.

What are your thoughts on your new manager Patrick Vieira?

I think he will be good for us and hopefully move us up the table. He has good managerial experience with the likes of Manchester City.

Is there anything you think West Ham should improve on this season?

You had a great 20/21 season so maintaining strength and success is key. If you make a couple of new signings I reckon you will be in an even better position this season.

Were you just as surprised as West Ham fans when we finished the season in 6th place?

I was really surprised by where you finished last season – I think it was a shock to everyone.

How much did you enjoy the Euros?

It was such a good experience for us England supporters. Brilliant to watch. I have a lot of respect for the team to bring us that far. Unfortunately, the final didn’t go our way but we did so well to get as far as we did.

As it’s Mark Noble’s last season do you have any vivid memories of him playing against your team?

I have a lot of respect for Mark Noble. I really hope he has a great season this year like he did in 2015/2016. I wish him the very best in the future.

What are your score predictions for your team against us?

1-1. It will be a tough game.
