With one more win on the board than the Hammers so far this season, Aston Villa will be looking to climb the table further this weekend. We catch up with Aston Villa fan Casper Parks to talk about his team.
How’s your transfer window been so far?
Our transfer window has been solid so far. I’m very impressed with our signings, we’ve got some of the business done before other clubs and there’s still some more players I’m hoping we bring in. The signings we’ve made so far are ones that will hopefully take us to the next level.
Who is a new player that opposing teams should look out for?
Kamara. His ability to pass the ball and win the ball is top class. He’s a Europa League runner-up and that’s someone we need in our team.
What will you class as a success for you this season?
A successful season for Villa would be a top 10 finish then for next season push for Europe. I’d be happy to finish in the top half of the table especially after we finished 14th last season.
What position do Villa need to fill before the transfer window shuts?
I would still want maybe another centre back. Kourtney Hause is rumoured to be leaving so then we will only have three centre backs. Kamara can play centre back but he was bought in to play in front of the defence.
How do you reckon your team will get on this season?
I’m backing us to finish in the top half. I’d be very chuffed about finishing there. With the players we have got and signed there’s no reason as to why we can’t.
What are your thoughts on the season being postponed before Christmas for the World Cup to take place?
It’s annoying having the World Cup around that time. This summer feels very weird knowing that if it wasn’t in Qatar we would have had a summer of football. It’s super strange but I hope England do well.
Last season Villa player Marvelous Nakamba was seen doing around 10 rolls after a challenge from our player Fornals. Is that embarrassing for you?
At the time it was embarrassing and I hope he doesn’t do anything like that again. Football is a contact sport; some players need to recognise that.
What’s your score prediction for your game against West Ham?
2-1
