Leicester have won just four games all season. What’s the main problem?
Alice: The squad just isn’t clicking. Confidence is short, the defence is all over the place, and we look lost in midfield. We’ve had injuries, sure, but even when the squad is fully fit, we’re making too many mistakes. The lack of a proper goalscorer isn’t helping either – Vardy just isn’t the player he used to be.
Leicester have a few tough fixtures coming up. Do you think you can get something out of those games?
Alice: If we play like we have been? No chance. If we dig deep and actually show some fight, we might be able to snatch a point or two, if our opposition has an off day. But in some of our remaining games, it could get ugly.
The Van Nistelrooy Verdict
How many games does Ruud van Nistelrooy have left as manager?
Alice: I don’t see him lasting the month. The fans are already turning, and if we don’t start picking up points soon, the board will have no choice. I like him, but he looks out of his depth right now.
So I guess you’re worried Leicester are going to get relegated?
Alice: How could I not be? Four wins all season is relegation form, and we’re running out of time to turn it around. If we don’t sort out our defence and find a way to score, we’ll be in the Championship before we know it. The only thing giving me hope is that there are a few teams just as bad as us – but we can’t rely on that.
Looking to the Future
If Leicester so stay up, what area needs to be improved the most?
Alice: Defence, 100%. We need a proper leader at the back, someone who organises and commands. We’ve been too easy to break down, and unless we fix that, next season will be just as bad. Midfield could use some steel too, but fixing the defence has to be priority number one.
When do you think Jamie Vardy will retire?
Alice: I think he’ll give it one more season, but that’s probably it. His pace is fading, and he doesn’t influence games the way he used to. It’ll be a sad day when he goes, but I’d rather see him bow out with dignity than struggle on for too long.
Who do you want to win the league?
Alice: Anyone but Arsenal. Ideally, I’d love Liverpool to do it. But honestly, it’s painful watching other teams compete at the top while we’re stuck fighting for survival.
