It seemed like a long time between our last game and the Chelsea game, and despite the result we were pleased to welcome donations from existing and new supporters. With online donations to the JustGiving page we should be able to deliver more food pallets over the coming weeks, with our usual collections planned for the Spurs and Crystal Palace games.
Last season’s JustGiving campaign exceeded our £10,000 target by £61, and we thank the many who supported us and helped us to deliver over £80,000 of food in 2024. Last season’s page is now closed, and is replaced with this link for the new season: justgiving.com/crowdfunding/ironssupportingfoodbanks2025-26
Expanding Distribution and New Partners
Even without football, recent weeks have kept us busy on the clothing distribution side, with a generous kit and clothing donation from the WHU Foundation as well as further deliveries from our clothing suppliers.
Over the coming weeks we will be delivering to a number of new partners including Braintree District Foodbank, who operate at seven locations including Halstead and Witham and to Harmony House and Heath Community Hub in Dagenham. More donations are scheduled for Scope 3CE, Sphere Support Stratford, West Silvertown Community Foundation Foodbank, The Source Barking, and Chelmsford Street Scene. We continue to receive requests for support from new groups every few weeks, and will work on a solution to support them accordingly.
Matchday Merchandise and Volunteer Call
We’ve restocked our merchandising, and have all three colours of the beanie hats, as well as adding the smart light blue hoodie to our range. These are only £28 plus postage, or can be bought at our matchday stall.
We’re grateful to our volunteers who collect with us on a matchday from three hours before all home games, and welcome support from anyone else who might have 30 minutes or so to collect with us. Please drop us a line for more information at ironsfoodbank@gmail.com
