We’re grateful that our FA Cup run has brought us another two home games, which should provide funding to deliver a further £2,000 of food to our foodbanks during the coming weeks.
So far this year our fans have helped us to provide approx. £6,000 of food to nine foodbanks in Newham and we’re always grateful for the support we receive.
Clothing Distributions Across Essex and Beyond
Alongside the food distribution, we’ve been heavily involved in delivering new clothes to 10 community and rough sleeper groups in Newham, well over £40,000-worth.
We’re still in discussions with Cool2BKind about working out of a base in Chelmsford to provide for homeless folk across Essex, where we already make deliveries to Colchester, Chelmsford and Braintree.
Delivering Winter Aid to Ukraine
Further afield, three years ago we sent warm winter clothes to Ukraine through a charity based near Stansted Airport.
Having seen the sub-zero temperatures in Ukraine this winter, we were again able to provide a further pallet of new clothes to UK-Aid, who since the invasion began four years ago have made almost 100 journeys to Ukraine with medical supplies and other provisions.
Official Club Charity Spotlight: West Ham vs Leeds
As an official Club charity partner, we are allocated a home game to highlight our activities and this has been confirmed for the last home game of the season against Leeds United.
We’re set up before every home game outside the Aquatics Centre on Stratford Walk, and outside Hackney Wick Station, for food, cash and cashless donations which help us to support those who are struggling.
Matchday Merch and How to Get Involved
We’ve also our merchandising available on a match day which includes hoodies, beanies and t-shirts, and all proceeds go into the pot to pay for our next pallet of food.
As usual we are very grateful for any of the donations we receive. If anyone wishes to give us a hand on matchday just drop by for a chat at our matchday collection point.
